I was looking for things to do mid week cheaply in central London to break up my long working week. I found the Soho theatre website on lastminute.com
I booked 2 tickets to see Zoe Lyons at £11 each which I thought was excellent for an hour of comedy in central. Zoe has been featured on Michael Mckintyre and Paul o Grady and the youtube clips were very funny.
When we arrived at the theatre we collected our tickets from the box office and didnt have to queue. We arrived 5 minutes early and so bought a few drinks from the small bar upstairs, as the bar on the ground floor was very crowded. The guy serving us was very polite, chatted to us and we were impressed. The theatre is based around a set of stairs but there is a lift for easy access. The theatre was a bit too warm though and we felt a bit uncomfortable until we got used to it!
The comedy was in the upstairs studio, and was very intimate, the seats were comfortable but not theatre style. If we had been in the main theatre the tickets would have been a lot more expensive. Zoe was hilarious and we had a great evening.
I would totally recommend this theatre for a little outing. Its right in the heart of Soho, and it was packed! You can easily head for a night out afterwards and the staff made us feel so welcome. Stuart from the Apprentice was even there watching Zoe!
