Can women buy intimacy ? Charlie's customers hope so !

What an excellent piece of theatre - 'Fucking Charlie' by Rikki Beadle Blair of 'Metrosexuality' fame. If you're interested in a very witty drive through the vagaries of women’s issues re intimacy then this is for you. It was by turn sensitive and rib-achingly funny. Amanda Gordon was highly watchable as a novice user of a male escort, while Charlotte Donachie brought immense sincerity to the role of Cam, the escort's ex girlfriend and mother of his dead child, also best friend to the child role of Isobel played by child actress Casserley Cielo. The casting of this role was wise in my opinion as when casting a teenager one has two options -cast a youthful looking actress out of Drama school and run the risk of the actress 'acting young', or as in this case cast a child actress who has the maturity to handle such challenging adult material.Casserley Cielo had the audience in the palm of her hand displaying such emotional range that we were led from laughing like drains to weeping at her soliloquised prayer - I guess we'll be hearing more from her in the future if this is what she can achieve now.
