I am a big fan of West End shows and Wicked is be far my absolute favourite. This show is simply incredible; the production is professional, the dancing wonderful and the story magical. The show tells the story of Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good Witch and their lives before and though the story of the Wizard of Oz. The story is enchanting with great morals that we should not judge a book by its cover and that we should not believe everything we hear. The story starts with the two young girls starting school with many hopes and dreams, they immediately become enemies and as the story progresses they develop a meaningful friendship which takes them on a wonderful adventure. Elphaba has strong beliefs and is not prepared to compromise them for anything; I would hate to spoil the show as the story has many twists and turns. The story has many of the characters from the Wizard of Oz, which makes the story feel familiar although it is all very new. The story is wonderful and the music is very powerful, with the kind of songs that change your life. I would highly recommend this musical to anyone who enjoys going to the theatre; I think that this is a great show for the whole family and would be enjoyed by all ages. The soundtrack is wonderfully inspiring and you should expect to leave the show humming all the songs.
