The ride is based on the successful Star Wars franchise and was created by George Lucas, making it the first of the park s attractions that did not use Disney engineers. The area was originally named Festival Disney and opened in April 1992. The area is based on Walt Disney World s Downtown Disney and it located adjacent to the two theme parks of Disneyland Resort Paris and its Lake Disney hotel area. The district has a canopy over the top and the buildings are design is very funky. The area is the best at night when the street and shops are lit up.
