American Adventure Theme Park

All the adult/teen rides were sold off after a petition from local residents said "The American adventure was far too noisy" making this a toddler friendly theme park and then complained after its closure "this would be a great loss to the area" well locals you fought for the loss of jobs and tourism and are still complaining the local council could build executive homes around the rather large lake. Thank you Locals !!!

i visited as a teenager and loved it, my fave was missle andthe snake slides where you climbed up the nets to the top. I then went again about 15 years later with my own daughter.
the price was resonable but there was too many kiddies rides and not enough bigger rides food, drink and icecreams were very expensive.

The theme park has now ceased trading, and it comes as no surprise, they closed all the best rides in the last two years to make a childs park only, a terrible decision that we all knew would bring doom, and now it has. The rides at the park are now being sold off and the site is the property of Derbyshire County Council when the lease ends. A terrible shame, I was there one year careing for two younger children when one had an accident, a couple of staff stayed while wiating for a first aidder, who lent us a wheel chair for the day and was a great help. my family went to the american adventure in 2006 and how much had it changed....and not for the better ,gone are all the big rides and left are the smaller kids stuff,i used to go inthe 90s when you had to cue for rides this time there was no cueing and no people! iasked staff what happenened and heyeven slagged the park off!!! the park has changed hands so many times in the last few years that there is no direction for the park, what i think it needs is someone willing to spend money on it because its in bad need or i fear it will close for good . please please someone with imagination buy the park before its too late and restore it to its former ...  Read the complete review

American Adventure - The age of some of the rides seem to let down the park, the attitude of the staff can very off-putting. The park itself had not been updated in quite some time, with no new major rides as such, the rocket is the only fair rollercoaster they have there, and that now is starting to show its age. It's time for the park to be either put out of its misery, or to which I hope, have a lot of money spent on it with new rides, new facelift, etc. Many years ago they had the wild west shootouts which were fun to watch and a great crowd puller which have now gone, due to political correctness gone mad!
