Express Review on American Adventure Theme Park

All the adult/teen rides were sold off after a petition from local residents said "The American adventure was far too noisy" making this a toddler friendly theme park and then complained after its closure "this would be a great loss to the area" well locals you fought for the loss of jobs and tourism and are still complaining the local council could build executive homes around the rather large lake. Thank you Locals !!!

i visited as a teenager and loved it, my fave was missle andthe snake slides where you climbed up the nets to the top. I then went again about 15 years later with my own daughter.
the price was resonable but there was too many kiddies rides and not enough bigger rides food, drink and icecreams were very expensive.

The theme park has now ceased trading, and it comes as no surprise, they closed all the best rides in the last two years to make a childs park only, a terrible decision that we all knew would bring doom, and now it has. The rides at the park are now being sold off and the site is the property of Derbyshire County Council when the lease ...

American Adventure - The age of some of the rides seem to let down the park, the attitude of the staff can very off-putting. The park itself had not been updated in quite some time, with no new major rides as such, the rocket is the only fair rollercoaster they have there, and that now is starting to show its age. It's time for the ...

Oh, what have they done to the beloved American Adventure Theme Park? If you haven't visited this attraction within the last couple of years then I advise you to read this review before you set foot anywhere near it. I live about 5 minutes drive away from the American Adventure and have visited the attraction on many occasions. I even ...

It was nearing the end of the school holidays 2002 when we went to this fantastic place as a well-deserved treat for all of the family, i'd been there before, but not since, they'd changed alot though. American Adventure, a little drive from my home town Nottingham, in Derby. To start off we went on the Buffalo ride that is a roller ...

Having been here once each year for the past 3 years (using free passes twice) I can only say that the park only continues to get worse. There is what I can only describe as a generally shoddy feel to the whole place. In fact during my last visit there was Jet Ski racing most of the day which made the most awful racket which you just cannot get ...

Often overlooked in comparison to theme parks such as Alton Towers and Camelot, the American Adventure in Derby is one of the most enjoyable theme parks in the North. Reasonably cheap at around £15 for an adult and £13 for a child, and even less with a season pass, my Dad enjoys taking me and my brothers ...

Howdy pardner, nice of you to mosey on down to my neck of the woods. Why don't you pull up a log and stay for a while. It's mighty good of you to come a visiting us here in Silver City. I visited The American Adventure theme park on Sunday 6th May 2002. The park is located Ilkeston Derbyshire. The weather was good. The park was empty, with Monday being bank holiday I was expecting more people. You could get on the rides with less then five minutes waiting. We got to the park at 9:55. I parked my car and waited for the main ...

Seeing as though it was my 40th Birthday, my wife booked a weekend away for the two of us. We went to Nottingham and stayed in a hotel. This was on the 3rd/4th of August, last weekend to be precise. On the Saturday the sun was shining and we decided on a day out at The American Adventure Theme Park. We went trying not to compare it ...

Having been to the American Adventure about twelve times, I can safely say that it is brilliant. The majority of people would say that it is simply a second class, cheaper alternative to going to Alton Towers but I think this is completely wrong (as I have told many of my friends when trying to convince them to go to here rather than the bigger ...

My sister got a job at American Adventure about 2 years ago (when she was 16) and she told me that they treat you like badly, the pay is poor (£2.60 per hr), they never gave you breaks and they let her operate rides which was illegal at her age. I have been many times to American Adventure and its a average theme park with loads of rides, ...

One of my favourite theme parks is one called American Adventure situated at Ilkeston, Derbyshire. It is relatively flat, quite compact being set around a large lake. You can see across to all rides so it feels very open making it safe for children to run on ahead. It is better than Alton Towers in that respect, where paths twist round ...
