Advantages: Attention to detail
Disadvantages: Can become extra hot in this park due to the lush vegetation
In some ways Animal Kingdom is quite unlike other Disney parks, but it doesn't miss out on the superb detail to attention which Disney do best. I have just returned from my fifth trip to Orlando but this was my first visit to Animal Kingdom and it was grrreat! The attractions at Animal Kingdom are meant to both entertain and educate and I think they pull this off very well. The centre piece is the Tree of Life, a huge structure covered with over 300 animal structures. This really has to be seen to be believed and each timeyou look at it you see something new. There are a number of shows but my favourite was Festival of The Lion King. The quality of the show and performers are so good that it could have been taken from a top Broadway show. Believe me this is a not to be missed show. Of cours many of the attractions are based around animals. I personally am not a lover of zoos but this is done extremely well. One of my favourite things was Kilimanjaro Safaris. Here you board an open-top vehicle and embark on a 20 minute safari. While there we saw lions, elephants, zebra, antelope, rhino etc, all of whom appeared to be in their natural environment (there are no fences or barriers between the vehicles and the animals! Every turn of the corner brings something new in this park. Overall I was most impressed with the theming of the place. It is divided into different 'lands', Asia Africa etc and the attention to detail is truly superb. If you are ever in Orland put Animal Kingom on your schedule, I'm sure you won't regret it
