Advantages: Another great park in orlando.
Disadvantages: There is not enough shades
Aquatica is a water park owned by Busch Entertainment Corporation and located near Orlando, Florida. The park opened in March 2008 and is 1 of 3 parks in the area that are from the Busch Entertainment Corporation. The others are SeaWorld Orlando and Discovery Cove.
The parks theme is the Southern Pacific and is what Sea World calls a "natural" park. The water park is Sea Worlds rival to Disney's 2 water parks and Universals Wet N Wild. The main ride here is the Dolphin Plunge water slides. This ride has two enclosed tube slides pass through a pool containing a pod of Commerson's dolphins. The time you spend in the pool is very short so you have to be quick to spot them Also if the pod is not swimming near the slide you wont see them. But if you do it's a great (different) experience.
The park is 59 acres in size and has 12 rides (36 slides in total) The rides at the park are:
Dolphin Plunge pool.
Taumata Racer - An eight-lane racing slide with guests sliding down on mats. This is a great ride. I love to be conpetertive.
Whanau Way - A tower with four double-raft slides.
Tassie's Twisters - A pair of funnel slides that can be ridden in single or double rafts. This is a fun ride and you can really get some speed up when you are in a singel raft.
Walhalla Wave. - A twisty slide with enclosed, pitch-dark segments. This is not such a good ride. I found this very boring and only rode it once.
HooRoo Run - sharing a tower with Walhalla Wave, this triple-dip slide is short, but fast.
Lazy rivers - The park has 2 types of lazy rivers.
Roa's Rapids - a faster, aggressive version of the lazy river with geysers and speed zones and Loggerhead Lane - a traditional lazy river.
Wave pools - Again the park as 2 types of Wave pools
Cutback Cove has stronger, taller waves and Big Surf Shores has gentler, rolling waves.
The park laso has children's areas Kata's Kookaburra Cove & Walkabout Waters. Walkabout Waters is play fortress with slides, ladders and dumping water buckets. This area is great of kids and the adults will love watching them have fun while relaxing on the sun beds next to the area.
The park is very good as all the Orlando parks are but due to the park being new the themeing and atmosphere is not the best but that will grow with ages. Also due to the age of the park the plants and trees are very small so the park does not have a lot of shade which for me is not the best.
Summary: Not as good as the Disney water parks

- 21/10/09 Water parks are automatically more enjoyable in hotter climes - I really enjoyed my visit years ago, but do remember thinking it wouldn't quite be the same in Blackpool! |
