Australia ZooNewest Review: ... when you went there he was nowhere to be seen. Now I say that I used to live near there. That was around 8 years ago and I was pushing the ripe age of 17, so forgive me for not remembering the prices of admission. Lets just say that whenever we had time and we wanted to go we could go. It wasn't until I got over what seemed to be foolishness and hilarity of a grown man chasing after ... more |

I used to live 20 mintues from here, and I loved it. It was the most hands on experience a kid could get without going walkabout! I'm happy to say too, that the times I went myself and my family were treated to shows which starred none other than Steve Irwin and his best mate Wes - much to many people's ideas that when you went there he was nowhere to be seen. Australia Zoo started when the Irwin family moved to Queensland from Victoria in 1970, and Bob Irwin set up the "Beerwah Reptile and Fauna Park" - which is now Australia Zoo. Today, Australia Zoo is one of the foremost zoological facilities in the world, with impeccable facilities, loads of space and a plethora of happy, healthy animal species. What is especially good about this Zoo is it's emphisis on conservation. A lot of Zoos seem to be more tourist attractions these days than actually fulfilling a purpose. Australia Zoo really does contribute a lot to conservation, through breeding programmes, buying land and educating it's visitors. Indeed the Zoo's moto ... Read the complete review

I dont normally like Zoo's at all, i find them quite boring and 'samey' Australia Zoo however is completely different, its exciting. I was always going to go here whilst doing the east coast as i dont think you can miss it, but when it came to it I wasnt really looking forward to it. It cost about £20ish which included a return bus to wherever you were staying, we happened to be in Noosa. You need the hole day there, which is what the bus allows, but without it you will miss things. Now obviously there are lots of animals which are kept in very good enclosures, more than big enough for what is in there, and there is a huge range of animals, more tha ... Read the complete review

This is possibly the best zoo I have been to, ever! Visited this place on my travels in Australia and was around £20 so about 40 aussie dollars. It's Steve Irwin's (or his family's) zoo and is a great day out for anyone young or old. Spent the whole day here, they give you a map on entry. I went around all the amazing animals from comodo dragons to kangeroos and elephants to crocodiles. There were various shows on, I saw a crocodile show, which was a little worrying but was very interesting, particularly when you see the crocs jumping high out of the water for a piece of meat. You can feed the elephants, hold ... Read the complete review

CRIKEY ITS AUSTRALIA ZOO!! ****History**** Australia Zoo was first opened by the parents og the famous Steve Irwin in 1970 (Bob and Lyn Irwin). From an early age Steve helped manage crocodiles, reptiles and looked after animals calling the zoo his home. In 1992 Steve and his wife Terri took over management of the zoo. They believe in "conservation through exciting education." The message throughout the park draws on the importance of conserving our precious wildlife and their natural habitats. ****Getting to the Zoo**** Admission into the zoo for a Family 5 Ticket (2 adult and 3 children)$160.50, for a Family 4 Ticket ...
