Various rides, including the still popular Sir Hiram Maxim Flying Machines, were introduced to the area. Unbelievably Blackpool pleasure beach has been standing in the same spot now for over 100 years (since 1896 to be precise). This place has been bringing fun to all ages for all those years and has only ever gotten better and better. I have been visiting the Pleasure beach since I was a young girl, my first time here I was only six years old and I remember loving it then as much as I do now. There is a real magic about this place, well the whole of Blackpool actually but the Pleasure beach in particular. Blackpool was one of those sea side places that I was always taken too when I was a kid, that and Llandudno for some reason, however when Blackpool was mentioned I always used to get excited because the tackiness of Blackpool is exciting for a kid. However, as I have got older, I don't seem to have grown out of Blackpool being one of the better places for a day trip if you come from the Midlands. Two hours drive up North of the M6, if that and you are there, with plenty to keep you occupied throughout the day.
