Advantages: Fun, Friendly, magical atmosphere and not too expensive.

Disadvantages: The weather usually but the park cant help that!

Unbelievably Blackpool pleasure beach has been standing in the same spot now for over 100 years (since 1896 to be precise). This place has been bringing fun to all ages for all those years and has only ever gotten better and better. I have been visiting the Pleasure beach since I was a young girl, my first time here I was only six years old and I remember loving it then as much as I do now.

There is a real magic about this place, well the whole of Blackpool actually but the Pleasure beach in particular. I have now moved on from the kiddies rides that I used to love so much in my younger days and of which many are still present, to the big thrill rides that entertain adults by scaring htem half to death.

Blackpool pleasure beach is home to one of my all time favourite rides, the ride I love the best is a fairly recent ride at the pleasure beach that arrived in the year 2000 it goes by the name Valhalla and was the biggest single investment made in the history of the park costing over 15 million pounds. The ride is an enclosed log flume ride which takes you through the ages stone age , ice age, and so on and so forth it has a steep backwards drop as well as two forward drops and has brilliant special effects.

Blackpool pleasure beach is also home to the Pepsi max roller coaster also known as the big one. This coaster took over a year to erect at the pleasure beach and at the time was the tallest and fastest coaster on the planet. It is an awesome ride as are most of the roller coasters that the Pleasure beach has to offer.

As well as all the rides there are many, many stalls offering chances to win prizes as well as shops selling merchandise dotted throughout the giant park. There is also plenty places selling food including a giant Burger King right opposite the Pepsi max so you can watch the terrified faces on the big coaster as you tuck into your meal.

The good thing with the pleasure beach is that unlike Alton towers and many other places you only pay if you are riding the rides as entry to the park is free. The best way to pay for the rides is to purchase arm bands if you intend going on a lot of rides because they can save you a fortune.

An adult arm band costs around £30 (they vary depending on the season) and they entitle you to ride every ride in the park as often as you like on the day of purchase. The pleasure beach reckon if you were to ride every ride once in the day there using a wrist band you would have saved over £100 and with the amount of rides and the cost of them they must be about right.

The other option is to buy ride tickets but with things like the big one and Valhalla costing seven tickets (each ticket costs one pound) it is obvious why a wrist band is the better option.

The parks opening times change depending on season and how busy the park is as well as the weather conditions so if you are only going on a day trip I would advise checking with the park the times for that day.
