Blackpool pleasure beach
To go to Blackpool has been my dream for many years, we never seem to go that far up country. But this year was different we were going to Alton towers and decided to take a trip up to Blackpool as well.
We arrived early so parking wasn't a problem we parked in a car park behind the pleasure beach it was seven pounds for all day parking.
Entry to the pleasure beach was thirty pounds each you have to pay for entry even if your not going on any rides but you can get entry for five pounds and you get to go in the maze use the train and see a show.
The queues to the rides wasn't bad compared to places like Alton towers the waits we no longer than 40 minutes each, at Alton towers it is often over two hours in mid July on a weekend.
There was a lot of security there we all had to go through scanners to get in.
We went there because I have always wanted to go on the pepsi big one, but I must say I think the best was infusion, you are sitting with your legs dangling down, this is a must to all roller coaster fans, it is a fast exciting ride with loops.
The pepsi big one was fun but not as scary as infusion, you only have a lap belt this made me feel a bit uncomfortable, it is 235feet high and it feels like it takes so long to get to the top, the ride was fun but not as fun as I thought it would be I had waited so many years to go on this ride.
Avalanche was a fun ride it is like a roller coaster but you are in a bob sleigh and your not on a proper track like on a roller coaster.
Steeplechase I thought was dangerous you are sitting on a horse with a strap around you, up to two people could sit on each horse, the person on the front have something to hold on to but for the person on the back it is as easy. You then race with another horse around a track, the corners are very sharp so it feels like you are going to fall of on each corner.
Iron bru was a fantastic ride it was a roller coaster that went forward then when you get to the end it starts over again but backwards. There was just one thing I didn't like that was the steeps to get up to this ride there was so many, then when the ride is finished you have to go back down all the steps again, I felt a bit dizzy after the ride and hated going back down the steps.
I didn't enjoy the older rides because they seemed to throw you about giving me plenty of bruises wildmouse was the worse.
There were loads of rides for younger children, teacups, carousel, ghost train and loads more.
There were so many places to eat, they had a chip shop selling buckets of chips with a spade, these were only small buckets and spades but there were plenty of chips. Also a burger king, a hot dog stall and loads of cafes.
I thought this was a good park and would recommend everyone to go there at least once.
update
I have just been told there has been a accident on the big dipper last night, the brakes failed and two carts crashed about thirty people are hurt.
Summary: a great park

- 16/08/09 I begrudged paying to get into a pleasure beach, it's akin to paying an entrance fee to get into your local superstore |
