I remember being younger and my Dad taking myself and my brothers to Alton Towers and to Camelot and thinking they where the only two real theme parks in Britain. But I guess on a league with Disneyland you can't compare. Also Alton Towers isn't really a theme park it's got lots of different themes but no central theme that brings it ... I recently went to Blackpool Pleasure Beach as it was my son 9th birthday. We took a friend of his and so there were 2 adults and 2 children. We bought the wristbands which cost us £85. A bit expensive but worth every penny(or so we thought). We went on a few rides and after that we went on the Log Flume. They had speeded the ... Read the complete review

A trip to the Pleasure Beach at Blackpool is a fantastic experience that you will never forget. The park is an enormous fun fair (and much more) with an enormous number of rides and attractions. To visit Blackpool Pleasure Beach is to witness an assault on the senses. It is a carnival chaos of traditional fairground rides combined with modern steel thrill machines and a back catalogue of historic wooden roller coasters. The sight of wooden structures intertwined with steel, overlapping with walkways and under lapping with water channels ... Read the complete review

It was my daughter’s birthday recently and as a treat we thought we’d take her to Blackpool Pleasure Beach. We decided on a weekday afternoon as we thought there were less likely be crowds than at the weekend. We were right. There were no crowds at all. The place was shut! I’d taken a look at the website, where ... Read the complete review

Blackpool Pleasure Beach was where I spent a lot of my childhood, but I have to say it's gone downhill since then. For one thing, it's way too comercialised. Back in the good old days we had good quality food stands, cure little boutiques and fun rides. Now the food stands are franchised meaning lower quality for higher prices. All the ... I am sitting here in a neck brace after visiting Blackpool pleasure beach, so forgive me if I sound bitter! I will first tell you that there is a half price wristband (entry to all rides) deal on Fridays for Spring till the middle of June, which drops the price from £25 to £12.50 and changes the value for money! Luckily we arrived at 2pm ... Read the complete review

Blackpool Pleasure Beach was the brain child of Alderman William Bean in 1896. He bought 42 acres of land then started his dream. In the 1930's, Leonard Thompson took over as manager director and the park is still in the hands of the Thompson family today. THE RIDES The rides are banded into three groups; A B or C. The A ... I smashed up someones car door when I visited Blackpool Pleasure Beach last year so it didn't start that well. It was the wind that made me do it, honest! The seafront at Blackpool is quite nice despite the crime-causing wind that seems to tear right through walls to attack me, but there are some very nice restaurants and poorly ... Alton Towers aside this has to be my fave amusement park, and what can I say, but it's only getting better!!! I think the first time I went to Blackpool I was probably still a babe-in-arms, I wouldn't say it's on our doorstep but it's hardly a million miles away. At just over 45 miles away from us it's quite near but ... Read the complete review

A family outings to Blackpool in the summer is always a cheap way to have a nice day out. However, this year I don’t really want to go, and might try the other seas side resorts like Southport or go to the Lake District instead. Blackpool is a nice place to visit, but it can become rather boring. It would help if the beach was ... Read the complete review

This is a very scarey place to go if you have children. I was totally shocked! It would have cost £75 for all day wristbands for three small boys ( all under ten). When I picked myself up off the floor I decided to limit their rides at the Pleasure Beach and entertain themsomewhere else afterwards. I must admit that I felt very mean, but ... I thought that this would be the ultimate place to go after Alton Towers (see Alton Towers). What a disappointment. Having bought a multi ride ticket we waited in long queues of noisy teenagers. The majority of them appeared to have rolled out of the local pubs. The over all image of the place was grotty. Litter was strewn ... Read the complete review
