Disadvantages: Your get a little bit wet

I have visited Orlando Florida for many years, and I have to say I was getting rather bored with the same tourist attractions, like Disney and the theme parks. Although these are great fun you can't help but think that Orlando must have more to offer.

On my last visit we fell upon the Boggy creek airboat trips, it was by pure chance we found this place, we were on the way to epcot theme park and it was on the way so we decided to stop and check it out.

The Boggy Creek Airboat trip is an airboat ride that helps you explore Florida's everglades, we drove slowly through the everglade swamps looking for wildlife and taking in the scenery.

We only got a small glimpse at the well know alligator, but our tour guide said we took our trip at the busiest time, so the wild life was disturbed by all of the boats.

He told us that the early morning of the night trip was the best to see all the wild life at its best, although we did see some alligators and birds. If we went during the quite times we could have encountered bald eagles and even turtles.

This trip lasted half an hour although we got about 40 minutes as the guides wanted us to see more, the first half of the trip was slowly taking in scenery and animals, and the second half was spent zooming around the swamp on the air oat at roughly 45 MPH.

I really loved this park of the trip and to be honest is was the best bit, as I see I once you have seen an alligator you've seen an alligator.

I have to say I really enjoyed the trip as it showed me a whole new side to Orlando, other than the normal theme parks.

The whole trip cost us $45.90 plus tax, for two adults.

Adults $22.95.

Children over 3 $17.95.

This was for the day trip, I think the night trip may cost you a little bit more, I would advise you try it.

I have to say this was the highlight of my trip, I found it truly fantastic, as I didn't even know that orlando had everglade swamps, I just assumed it was only Miami that had this sort of thing.

If you are ever in Orlando and have a spare few hours I would really give this a go, even for the 45MPH hair raising zip around the swamp would do it for me.

Summary: Great afternoons fun, at reasonable price.
