Advantages: Very knowledgeable guides!

Disadvantages: Dont forget your bug spray

If your in Orlando and looking for something different to the normal theme parks then a visit to Boggy creek airboats is a must! I ahve been to Florida about 15 or so times now and have been fortunate enough to do an airboat ride in the everglades aswell in a few other locations. I have to say that honestly Boggy Creek beat them all hands down!

Firstly if you want to do this you need a car! Our hotel tried to convince me it was only a 20 minute taxi ride! Hmm...not sure where they were sending me as it was more like 45 minutes from door to door! Its in the middle of no where so a car is the best option.

When you arrive they may try to talk you into a "private" airboat ride as they leave straight away and will have one guide for just your party. However in my opinion its not worth the extra - we waited about 10 minutes longer and only had 1 other group of 6 with us.

You get on the boat and the guide tells you abit about the area, what they hope to see, safety etc. If you ahve any loose hats or anything - definately worth hanging on to these! Once the boat starts going it is very loud so you'll have nice headphones to put over your ears.

The guide will stop to show you anything of interest - we saw some buffalo, lots of alligators (including baby ones) racoons, bald eagles and much more. I found our guide to be very friendly and extremely knowledgeable.

I cant remember how much we paid (about $20 a person i think plus tip) but it was well worth every penny! The ride is about 30 minutes long and its best to get there as early as possible.

Also dont forget your bug spray! as around the water there were hundreds of bugs!

Summary: best airboat ride ive done!
