Advantages: Loads of good rides, easy to get around the park

Disadvantages: Expensive, but lots of deals available

I've just got back from Chessington World of Adventures and I've had a brilliant day out with my family. The ticket price of £33 per adult seemed steep at first (even with our Tesco 2 for 1 it seemed expensive for a day out) but it actually represented really good value and we all had a great time.
We made a bee-line for the Bubbleworks ride on entry as this is a popular one that can have long queues. While there weren't actually as many bubbles as I was expecting, there were a few watery surprises along the way and I'd say it is a must for under 8s. Next on the agenda was Tomb Blaster which is a kind of interactive ghost train in which you use a laser gun to blast mummies and other nasties. I was a bit concerned that this would be too intense for our son but he actually loved it - we kept the commentary light on the way round. The effects were better than I was expecting but the tone was more fun than frightening.
Next was a trip to "Toytown" and a series of rides designed for pre-schoolers: Flying Jumbos, a carrousel, crazy car rides etc. All of them had good kiddie appeal, although some of the rides were starting to look a little tired.
We had taken a picnic which worked well and meant our time on the rides was optimised. (We'd kept it in the car and popped back to get it, rather than carrying it round all morning - re-entry to the park is easy.)
We stayed about another hour after lunch, taking in "Beanoland" with its dodgems and "Bash Street Bus" ride, as well as going on the big wheel. We left feeling that there was still loads to see, including the zoo and new Sealife Centre.

Summary: Good value day out with the family
