Disadvantages: It is expensive

We all visited Discovery Cove in summer 2007. We booked online about two weeks before our holiday and got the last slot. They only had 2 tickets with dolphin swims left. If you are planning a trip for the summer book early as places are sold fast.

They only allow so many people in per day. We are a family of four and we booked tickets for four with only two dophin swims which were for my children. It costs about $140 per person, per day without dophin swim and $170 per person, per day with dophin swim. This price includes 7 days free entry to Seaworld.

They also have an evening ticket that allows you to get in the water with the dophins but you can't swim with them. Its a cheaper ticket. I thought when the evening guests arrived the park looked a bit messy as the staff were busy cleaning and picking up rubbish from the day.

The day vist was magnificent. We arrived at about 9am and were checked in. We were given a wet suit goggles ect. (no deposit needed).

They also have prescription goggles for people who wear glasses. The deposit is quite high for prescription goggles and they won't return deposit if you lose prescription goggles.

All food and drink is available all day and included in price. The meals and food were very good.

A talk is given before the half hour dolphin swim and our children were put in a small group with a trainer. Everything seemed to be very safe. They talked about the dolphin allowed them to touch it and each person is given a short swim on their own with the dolphin.

They have a lovely lazy river. Lagoons filled with fish and baby sharks for swimming in. There is also a garden filled with exotic birds. The day ends at 5pm, you're ready for home by then.

At the end of the day you get a chance to buy photos the staff have taken and DVD of dophin swim.

It was a wonderful day and my children still talk about it.

Summary: This is a wonderful experience and something your children will remember
