Walt Disney World in Florida is certainly a fantastic place for a holiday, however you must do some planning as this is needed before a trip to get maximum enjoyment from the theme parks.I have stayed both on and off site and if you can afford it you should stay on-site at one of the Disney resort hotels.They allow early access to the parks most days (very useful as the place gets busy really early) you get priority booking for Disney restaurants and shows and you can use the Disney transport to move around the various properties.You also get the 'cute' Disney toiletries in the room which I'm sure everyone takes home!
If you decide to stay off-site many of the hotels offer free shuttle buses to the main parks.
A must-see are the various parades but again this is something you have to arrive early for to get a prime viewing spot.Many of the queues for the busy attractions seem to tail off from about 5pm.
If you are taking young kids strollers can be hired at all Disney parks.However this works out quite expensive(about $7 last time we used the service)and a better bet is to visit one of the local superstore's (eg Wal-mart, K-mart) where you can pick-up a cheap stroller for about the cost of 3 days theme park hire.
Food and drink is expensive in the parks and they frown on people taking their own. However you can make great use of their water fountains where the water is always pleasantly cold. You can also leave the park during the day, get your hand stamped for re-entry, eat off-site and return later for more fun!If you return in the evening and stay the pace until about 9pm you will see the nightly fireworks display which is magnificent
