Advantages: Fairytale magic . Everyone wants to be able to say they've been to Disney .

Disadvantages: Long lines, expensive

Walt Disney had an acorn of an idea and it grew into a massive oak - but just as mighty oaks get parasitic mosses growing on their limbs so the parasite of the almighty dollar has overtaken Disney. Yes, there's a lot to see and do, it's a really fun-filled place, but everything is so expensive. A family of four could easily blow $200-$300 in a day, and not even souvenir shopping, just the entrance and drinks and food as they wandered around.
Walt Disney had a wonderful idea - a magical place for kids young and old. I truly feel he would be saddened to see what has happened over the years. It's priced itself out of many families pockets, which is sad. For every kid that gets to go see DisneyWorld, there are a lot who never will.

When we were there, we loved the parades (we had my grandchildren with us) and hubby and my daughter went on Space Mountain - but the wait was almost an hour from when they joined the lines. That, too, is a sad fact of DisneyWorld - there are always long lines!
Having said all of this, if you are in Florida, you'll probably fork up the dosh because who doesn't want to say they've been to Disney? Enjoy it, and try not to convert the $$$$ into £££ so you don't have a heart attack when you realise how much you've spent. You can save money by eating a good breakfast before you go, maybe packing a few snacks and then going out to eat AFTER you're done with disney. There are loads of all-you-can-eat places along the I-Drive area of Orlando and most cuisines are covered.

Remember your sunscreen, and have a great holiday!

Summary: fun but expensive
