Advantages: Great variety of rides, safe and very good facilities available.

Disadvantages: Can be come overcrowded at peak times.

If you have been to Disney land in Florida it is most likely that you have also heard of Tyfoon Lagoon and its partner waterpark Blizzard Beach. Having been to Florida many times now I have only recently actually been to this waterpark. I really felt as though I had been missin gout because it really was fantastic. The entire waterpark is based on a tropical paradise where a tyfoon storm has devestated the island. The most obvious shipwreck is at the top of the mountain and can be seen all over the park, it looks fantatstic! When I first went into the park I found that my first impressions were brilliant I mean, you really do get the feeling that you are in a tropical paradise.
Here are many of the rides that you can go on:

The wave pool and surf pool!:
The park itself has a world class wave pool that produces absolutelt huge waves! Allthough I did not do this, the park is open 3 hours before for optional sufing and they offer lessons so you can learn! This sounds fantastic and next time I go I will definately look in to doing this because I can only imagine how fun it is. What I love most about it is that the water is the perfect temperature, although I at some points it can become crowded. I suppose that is dependant on the time you go and the month in which you travel. The wave pool istself switches between having small waves every half hour or so and having the very big waves that can be 6ft or higher every ninety minutes. Oh and don't worry if you think you might miss it because there are sirens that tell you, however this tends to mean it becomes overcrowded very easily despite being such a huge park.

Castaway creek:
This is a continuous raft ride that takes you around the entire park, through waterfalls and other features. There is also a very cool feature whether you like it or not that people can use waterguns at certain places to shoot the people below! I found this to be particulalry satisfying when shooting my partner who appeared to have relatively dry clothes!

Keel haul falls:
This is literally a tube ride which is great fun because you travel past waterfalls and caves which really is exciting.

Gangplank falls:
When I saw this I really did think that this was going to be fantastic. I had heard before that it was the longest family raft ride in the world, being over 300ft. It really is great fun and especially so if you are going with the family. At time it can be quite fast but I'm sure your children would not find it too scary, oh and prepare to get wet because you pass through waterfalls!

Humunga Kowabunga:
Have you noticed how all of these rides have their own tropical name, everything at this park goes along with its tropical theme which is what I love so much about it. This ride is a very fast one indeed and so it is not recommend for all! All I can say is that this ride goes so fast you don't get the chance to take a look at where you are going. There is also a height limit and so it is worth checking, I think it is set at 42 inches.

Ketchakiddee creek:
This is a children's water world play area and it really is sweet, there is so many minature rides available that will be sure to keep them entertained!

Shark reef:
This has to be my favourite out of all of the park rides, it is in essence a fantastic snorkling experdition where you can watch a coral reef and the fishes (including sharks and manta rays!). You are supplied with a lifeguard and a pair of goggles, but I found that my goggles always leaked which was painfall for my eyes, so always check! It is also worth mentioning that the water temperature is considerably colder than the rest of the pakr, there is a big shower however, which prepare's you though.

The storm slides:
These slides are brilliant they take you past a whole load of features and then just drop you out into one bi pool, great fun!

Mayday falls:
This is another foam slide where you go down quite quickly and get a great view of the park along the way.

Crush N Guster:
This is another one of my favourite's in the park, there is a choice of different routes available and you go down in a two person raft (ideal for family and friends). You can either choose the bannana blaster, pineapple plunger or cocanut crusher which vary in speed and style. This ride really does throw you around and is great fun!

It even has its own white sanded beaches at different places within the park! Some extra infomration that you may wish to know is that from last time, lockers cost $5 for the whole day and extra towels are available to rent for $2. Another thing that I really loved about tyfoon lagoon was that there are so many excellent gift shops available throughout the park. It is always nice to get some of your friends and family a small present and I felt that the gift shops at Tyfoon Lagoon provided well. There is a big variety in what you can buy and more importantly they are reasonably priced. The food is also worth considering, there is a place called 'Typhoon Tilly's' and another called 'Leaning Palms'. I have used both in the past and the food quality was ecellent, the prices were quite expensive but I suppose you are paying a premium. They offer all sorts of things from hotdogs and burgers to ice cream.

The park is easy to access and is right in the heart of Florida and there are shuttle runs available to and from the park if needed. If you did want to bring your own lunch to try and save money there is a picnic area available called 'Getaway glen' which is very present and there is a good view of the park. I found the park to be very safety orinetated and so if you were worried at all about your children I can assure you that there is lifeguards etc all over. I also really liked the 'Forgotton Groto' which is basically a cave walkway and it really is great fun for all of the family. When going there it can get very hot especially if you go in summer. I sunburn quite easily an found myself in the first hour or so really going red. So I would though rally recommend getting a cheap shirt that you don't mind getting soaked to put on, especially for children. On that topic you can buy sun tan cream from many of the shops within the park so if you didn't have any or ran out for whatever reason it is good to know that it is available.

I found this park overall to be absolutely superb, the atmosphere is great and perhaps most importantly there is a great variety in the amount of water slides. That is what I liked most about it because there is something for everyone there whether you just want to relax or the opposite. It is great fun for all of the family and as I said previously the gift shop and food available is also very good. The park is clean in general and the staff there from my experience are very friendly and helpful which is just what you need. Just remember that if you do have small children there is a height limit on some of the rides but providing they are over 42 inches they can go on any. I would really like to try out the surfing next time I go because it looks fantastic and the surfing school I'm sure is also very good. I absolutely loved this park and I would really recommend it to everyone. I can't wait to go again, it is well worth the money and is brilliant all round.

I hope you found this review useful to you and thank you very much for reading it. I would greatly appreciate any comments, thank you.

Summary: A fantastic waterpark that is well worth going to on your holiday!
