Great disney fun for all! (Disneyland Resort Paris)

Advantages: Close to home, has many great rides and entertainment

Disadvantages: Only good for short break, not as good value for money as US parks

Disneyland Paris is actually made up of two parks, the Disneyland Park and the Studios. The studios is the newest of the parks and so far the least developed. However thats not to say it doesn't have excitement and thrills! There are a number of rides there including the recent Crush's Coaster, a great rollercoaster in which you travel facing back and forwards. Also there is the new Twighlight Tower of Terror. This ride brought from MGM studios in Florida is a truly terrifying experience and will make you never travel in a lift again!! It drops you a number of floors at high speed. The ride is never the same experience twice. Additionally exclusive to Disneyland Paris is the Armagedden ride, based on the film, you go inside the Russian space station for a pretend scene shoot. The special effects are great although young children will find it intense as there is water, fire and explosions. One of the best experiences in the studios is the stunt show featuring a whole host of car capers including Herbie. This show proved so popular that one has been opened in Florida. The rock and Rollercoaster is extremely popular and features a lot of fast moving twists and turns and music from aerosmith. The Disney Park is much more traditional featuring rides such as 'its a small world' (yes you will hum the tune for the rest of the holiday!), dumbo and peter pans flight. Peter pan I particularly like because it creates the fantasy of being in a ship flying through the air and the view over London is great. Big thunder mountain is a big crowd pleaser. It is a traditional mine train rollercoaster with of course the disney twist. There is also Space mountain for the more adventurous as it is in the dark. There are some great shows too particularly the4 Lion King which all ages will love and features everyones favourite songs. Of course there are the parades and character signings. The best time I have visited has been at Halloween when the park goes all out to create a spooky atmoshere with pumpkins everywhere, characters dressed as halloween monsters plus activities such as scary hair and makeup for the kids or big kids. No Disneyland Paris isn't as great as Florida but for a short break it is well worth a look.
