About Disneyland Paris:
I have visited Disneyland Paris twice now and I plan to visit it again this summer. As a bit of a child at heart I love the 'magical' feeling that Disneyland Paris provides by paying attention to every detail in the surroundings, the rides and also the shows and even shops in the park and the Disneyland Village. Disneyland is made up of two parks, The Magic Kingdom and the MGM studios built in tribute of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer who are movie makers (I'm sure you are familiar with the roaring lion quick add before any films made by this company).
The Magic Kingdom:
The Magic Kingdom is split into 5 different worlds including:
Frontier Land- a wild west style land which is the home of the famous rides 'Big Thunder Mountain' and 'the Phantom Manor'.
Discovery Land- a future themed land which is home to the 'Space Mountain' ride and many more.
Adventure Land- an adventure themed land which is home to rides such as 'The Pirates of the Caribbean' and 'Indiana Jones'.
Fantasy Land- a fantasy themed land which houses rides like 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarves' and 'Alice's Curious Labyrinth" and "Its a Small World".
Main Street Usa- a traditional old American themed street packed with great shops, it is situated right at the entrance of Disneyland's Magic Kingdom.
M-G-M Studios:
The Studios where built recently in Disneyland Paris and some of the main rides in this park are "Aerosmith Rockin' Rollercoaster" which is one of my favourite rides in the park, it is a high speed rollercoaster which goes 0-60mph in seconds and also "Armageddon" a ride where you are put into the action and get to experience the scene where the spaceship was struck by metiers, I loved this ride but feel it may be a bit scary for children as a lot of it is in the dark and there is fire and other effects used in it. The theme of this park is movies and everything is decorated on movie style decor.
There are three different lands in MGM Studios:
The Production Courtyard is a land that holds rides such as the new "Tour of Terrors" a ride that brings you up around 16 floors and then dramatically drops you into the twilight zone and also "Cinemagique" which is a show that is great for all ages to watch.
The "Toon Studio" which is a land that holds rides such as "Crushes Coaster" which is a Finding Nemo themed rollercoaster that has lots of twists and turns and is quite high speed.
The "Backlot" which is a land that has rides such as "Moteurs..Action! Stunt Show Spectacular" which is a great show with car stunts that shows you how they do all the cool high speed action stunts in the movies.
The Disney Village:
This is a line of great restaurants including Planet Hollywood, The Rainforest Cafe and Cafe Mickey, these are all great restaurants and have lots of selection of food between them however they can be very expensive, there is also a huge McDonalds in the village. There are also loads of shops that have loads of Disney merchandise in them and a "Hurricane Nightclub" which is great to go to on a night out if you're over 18 and like the party scene. The Disney Village also has a selection of bars and has great nightlife.
Eating in the parks:
If you don't have much money I recommend eating in the "Rocket Cafe" in Discoveryland in the Magic Kingdom or the "Studio Catering Co. Kiosk" in the MGM studios park to eat for cheapish at a range of between 7 and 11 euros, all the cheaper range cafes seem to sell the same kind of fast food for example pizza, french fries and sandwiches , if you have a bigger budget there are also more expensive restaurant that specialise in seafood, pizzas etc.
Fast Passes:
If you stay in any of the hotels or buy the fast-pass ticket you'll be granted access to rides and be able to skip the queue, simply use your ticket to get a fast pass to the ride you want to go on, then come back to the fast pass queue at the time that your ticket says and you'll be allowed to skip part of the queue. This service is available on some of the main attractions of the park and helps you get the most out of the time you spend in Disneyland Parks.
My Opinion:
I think Disneyland Paris is a great family holiday that offers something for all ages and tastes. It's definitely a holiday for the young and young at heart though the disadvantage of the resort is that it can be quite expensive to visit.
Summary: I love Disneyland Paris and plan to return
