Advantages: Short queue times and an amazing coaster!
Disadvantages: May be a bit too intense for the more rollercoaster-shy.
I've been to Disneyland Paris three times and one of the reasons it keeps pulling me back is that Rock 'N Rollercoaster is such an amazing rollercoaster!
Situated in Walt Disney Studios, it is one of the main attractions in the whole resort. The experience for most of us will start in the outside queue. As is usual for these type of crowd pulling attractions, the queue is always much longer than it seem and you'll wind your way through the outside queue and eventually make it to the main door. The inside queuing area is made to look like a record company, with a reception desk and a giant guitar being the first things you see. When you move further down the queue you'll find yourself in a room full of music memorabilia. This is great as you find yourself distracted by the displays of real memorabilia and it takes your mind off being in the queue. After that you'll be taken into a 'recording studio' where a large screen will show you Aerosmith talking you through the rollercoaster and get the adrenaline pumping.
When you leave the 'recording studio', however, then the adrenaline really gets going as you find yourself watching the rollercoaster leaving the station multiple times for the last part of the queue. This might not seem too scary a sight, but it goes from 0-57mph in under 3 seconds when it leaves the station, so just watching it will make your mouth go dry and your knees go weak!
Finally, you'll find yourself buckling yourself into your car and getting ready to go. The car will slowly move forward and then come to a stop while you'll hear Aerosmith through the loudspeaker telling you to get ready to do, then you'll hear a countdown from 3 while 2 giant screens at either side of the tunnel you're about to go into display the numbers 3-2-1 as the countdown goes down. Brace yourself and before you know it, you're off at such a pace that you think you've left you're stomach 300m behind you.
It is one of the most intense rollercoasters I've been on due to this launch. Its similar to the Rita Queen of Speed launch at Alton Towers.
The rollercoaster itself is in the dark so you can't really see what's coming and there's lots of flashing lights, so its not good for someone suffering from epilepsy and Aerosmith is blasting out through the speakers. The 'coaster features 3 inversions and goes to a maximum height of 80m.
When you finish you'll be on a high and want to get straight back on!
Queue times tend to be pretty low for this ride, surprisingly, maybe partly because its too intense for most little ones visiting the park to go on. I've managed to walk straight onto this rollercoaster about 8 times before and had to queue for a very short while 3 or 4 times. Only twice have I had to wait in a substantial queue.
Its definately not one to be missed if you are at all a rollercoaster fan and is a highlight of the park!
