Advantages: Very good ride based on a great film

Disadvantages: Not good for people who suffer from motion sickness.

Star Tours is a simulator ride located in 4 Disney theme parks around the world. The ride is based on the successful Star Wars franchise and was created by George Lucas, making it the first of the park's attractions that did not use Disney engineers.

The ride opened first in Disneyland California in 1987 and we so successful they opened the same ride in Disney's Hollywood Studios in December 1989.

Disney approached Lucas with the idea for the Star Wars amusement ride and with Lucas' approval, Disney Imaginers purchased four military-grade flight simulators at a cost of $500,000 each and designed the ride structure. Meanwhile, Lucas completed the film this all came together to form Star Tours.

The ride is 4:30 minutes long and has between 4 to 6 simulator taking 40 rides per car. The plot of the ride is that you are a space tourist en route to the forest moon of Endor. But your pilot is new. You will go through an asteroid field and come in to contact with the dark side and concludes with the famous death X wing Fighter seen.

The ride is very clever and works very well. If you don't like simulators then I would suggest avoiding this ride as it can get very turbulent. If you like this type of ride, this is the one for you.
