Advantages: Just all round good family fun!
Disadvantages: Quite expensive - but you do get alot for your money
I've done the Buffalo Bill's Wils West show a couple of times. On both occasions the show format was exactly the same (which I knew) but it is such good fun that I wanted to do it again! And if I went back to Disneyland I'd probably go again!
The Buffalo Bill's Wild West show is situated in the Disney Village. The Disney Village is just by the Marne La Valee train station and easy to walk to from most of the Disney hotels (I think with the Santa Fe you have to get a shuttle).
There are 2 show times - 6.30pm and 9.30pm, both are suitable for children I think there are just 2 performances due to the popularity. The tickets were in the region of £40 each for adults, which when you consider what you get isn't too bad.
The first time we went we got out tickets through the concierge in our hotel. We were very lucky as we managed to get the last 2 tickets available - and we went off season! The second time we booked in advance online when we booked the hotel, just to be on the safe side!
We went along to the show arena which is just next door to the cinema. On the way into the bar area you are given you Cowboy hat (which you get to keep). The Cowbow hat has a coloured ribbon around it which indicates which team you are in, and indicates where in the arena you will be seated.
In the bar area you have time to have a drink or two and there is entertainment. There was a country and western group who sing a couple of songs and get you to join in (in english) then there was this amazing cowboy doing tricks with a lasoo.
You are then invited to take your seats - depending on your colour you go to different sides of the bar. Once you've taken your seat (wooden benches behind wooden tables) you are bought over you drink. You get unlimited beer or soft drinks. Then your starter is bought out - Chilli with bread, the main is a selection of meat with corn and wedges and the pud is apple crumble. Considering that the food has to be served so quickly and to so many people it's not too bad. It's not amazing, but it's definately edible.
The main show itself features cowboys and Indians doing a variety of different "sketches". There isn't really too much of a story to the show, the main point is for the 5 sectors of the audience to compete against each other to try and win the "grand prize"!
Each section of the arena has their own cowboy that they need to cheer on and encourage to try and win a variety of different competitions. This is great fun and you really get caught up in shouting and waving your cowboy hat (and boo-ing the other teams!)!
Each section also has a "cowboy clown" that wanders around the seating area encouraging you to shout louder and taking the Micky (see what I did there - Micky, Micky Mouse - sorry!) our of people!
Part of the show involves participation from the audience. On our second visit I was picked from the audience! I basicaly had to go into the main arena (dodging the horse poo) and try and shoot a target! It's all fixed so they know who is going to win - I didn't win, not that I'm still bitter or anything!
At the end of the show the winning team gets awarded a "gold" (chocolate) coin - but then Buffalo Bills says that everyone should get one - so you all get a souvenir chocolate coin to take away with you! Mine didn't make it out of the arena!
This is such a brilliant night out but a few warnings - the horses and buffalo do kick up quite a bit of sand, so as recomended by Disney, if you have asthma or other breathing troubles, you should consider this - maybe ask for a seat a bit further away from the arena.
And also, on the animal front - it does smell!! Not horrible, just the normal smell you would expect! You do get used to this but for some with sensative noses it might put you off the food!
All in all a brilliant show and you can see the animals are well looked after which is something very important to me.
Summary: Get those chaps on head on out for a great night of fun!
