Disneyland Resort Paris - Discoveryland Theme Park / Zoo International

Newest Review: ... of your Space Cruiser. Queues can be long for this ride but it can be Fasspassed and is eligible for Extra Magic Hours. Space Mountain: Mission 2 - This is the largest attraction in Discoveryland, infact you can even see it when entering the Disneyland Resort on the Eurostar. Space Mountain is an indoor rollercoaster ride in which you are catapulted off into 'space'. It reaches speeds of 47mph and has a number of inversions. Not for the faint hearted! Star Tours - There's no missing this attraction as there is a huge X-Wing outside of it. During the queue you will see some of your favouite Star Wars characters such as R2D2 and C3PO. You ... more

There are 5 different themed lands at the Disneyland Park, Paris - Fantasyland, Frontierland, Main Street USA, Adventureland and Discoveryland. -LOCATION- Discoveryland is located in the East of the park and is in between Fantasyland and Main Street USA. It is easy to find (especially if you pick up a free park map at the entrance) - just walk up Main Street USA towards the castle and you will find it on your right. You can also catch the Disneyland Railroad to and from Discoveryland. -THEME- This land is futuristic/space themed. It is similar to Disneyland California and Magic Kingdom's ...  Read the complete review

Continuing with my Disneyland Paris holiday highlights, I thought I would review Discovery land. Discoveryland is the futuristic zone out of the five 'lands' in Disneyland Paris. Ooo I just reminded myself of The crystal maze T.V show with the 'futuristic zone' reference, I always wanted to go on there. Anyway back to Disney. This was my five year old sons favourite zones - here is what it has to offer. Buzz lightyear laser blast - we must have went on this ride 10 times during our stay, my little boy loved it and so did we. You sit in a two person 'ship' with laser guns attached, the idea is to help Buzz defeat the evil Zurg !! As you go ...  Read the complete review

Disneyland Resort Paris - Discoveryland: Future inspired fun! (369 words)

Discoveryland is one of 5 themed lands in the Disneyland Park in Paris. If you have visited any of the other Disneyland theme parks around the world then you will probably remember Tomorrowland. The Disneyland park does not have a tomorrowland and instead has a discoveryland which has similar themes and attractions. Walt Disney was well known for his Futuristic views and Discoveryland was designed to give visitors an idea of the possibilities of the future. As the park is in Europe they used famous European thinkers such as Jules Verne and his vision of the future of theme the park into what it is today. Although it has a different name some of the ...  Read the complete review

Discoveryland. is very French! This land has been inspires by the writings of Jules Verne. You will see this once you see the walk through model of Nautilus (from 20,000 leagues under the sea). The main attraction here is Space Mountain: Mission 2 a white knuckle coaster that is under cover and sends you propelling to the star in pitch black! There is also Autopia where you sit in cars and get electronically driven around a track. The kids love this one but for us grown ups it really is boring and you find yourself counting the time until you can get off. There is also a new Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast attraction which is great fun as you are made to feel you have ...  Read the complete review

This along with Fantasyland is where we spent most of our time in. First a great tip that we happened upon on our last day. The queue for The Lion King is awfully long and people wait in it for hours to get seats. We had lunch in the building - videoplolis and we got to sit in the tables infront of the stage, behind the seats for the show. Plus the food is Disneyland is all expensive but this is the only restaurant we ate in out of four altogether that had a free salad bar - well not actually a salad bar more tomato, onion and lettuce for your burgers but still that was all that was in the 4 euro green salad pretty much anyway! The must do rides in this ...  Read the complete review
