Disney Village has grown aand grown over the last few years and now warrants a full day's visit to see it all.

It is basically an entertainment complex made up of shops, restaurants etc. The whole place is set around a lake and is particularly pretty at night.

Disney Village is home to the World of Disney shop. This is basically the biggest Disney shop in the world, and believe me it is quite possible to get lost in here. It is amazing just wandering around the different rooms (each is theme based) but everything in here is SO expensive. The rest of the shops are mainly Disney based (Winnie the Pooh store, Disney at Home etc) but there are aalso anumber of smaller shops selling cystal etc which are nice although again not cheap.

There are a number of play areas for children together with the 'magical fountains'. These spray water sparodically and my kids had great fun playing here and both ended up soaking (bring a towel and change of clothes).

The restaurants here are all quite special and yes, again they are expensive. They include Gloria Estefan's Bongo's Cuban Cafe, Planet Hollywood, Rainforest Cafe etc.
We visited a few of the restaurants on our last trip but Rainforest Cafe was my favourite. The animals inside were great but the thunderstorms scared my 4 year old somewhat! The staff here are really friendly but best of all the food was great, and I would certainly come back again. All of the restaurants here get very busy so it's a good idea to either eat early, or let them know you want a table, do some window shopping and they'll page you when the table is ready.

For me no trip to the Orlando area is complete without a trip to Disney Village, it's quite a unique place, just watch out as it's so easy to spend those holiday dollars here!
