Advantages: zoo

Disadvantages: no que control

Everywhere you go at Drayton Manor you see the sign 'BEST UK VALUE DESTINATION' I wish I could agree.

I made the mistake of going in the summer holidays with my partner and my 5 year old son.

The adult ticket prices were £23 each and the child price £19!! So for the 3 of us to have a day out £65 not including food!

We set off early in the morning but due to the volume trying to get to the park it took us over a hour once we were only 5 mins up the road from the park.

There was then queing to get to the area where the ticket booths are. Then again queing at the ticket booths.

Then once you are in the park even more queing!!

Not all the ticket booths were open, nor were the ticket machines working. I felt that the ticket area was highly unorganised and felt that there would have been better way to organise this, ie plenty ticket machines for card ticket sales, a que just for tesco vouchers, a que for money off coupons and a que for cash sale. The staff were useless and gormless and struggled with the transactions thus making the ques longer.

Heres a tip, order through the site and you get cheaper ticket prices and you can go straight in with your etickets - unfortunately they don't advertise on the website though so its not apparant!

The park its self is very good, nice rides for all ages, thomas land is great and the zoo is lovely. But I would say that drayton manor need some ways on sorting out the ques! Fast ticket machines would be helpful or expected times of queing would be good. We managed to get on 5 rides all day for £65... Good Value??

Saying that I would go back as its better than some theme parks but avoid the school hols....time for the children to throw a sicky I think!

Summary: Not good value but thomas land is fab!

There are so many money off vouchers about I would never pay full price at any of these places nowadays, Susan

Its actually not a bad place to visit, especially if you have young children, but I advise to go early in the day and not in school holidays!
