Advantages: fun,
Disadvantages: little bit expensive
What is it?
Drayton maor is a theme park with lots of different rides, and also features a zoo!
Some of the "big rides there include:
Storm force (A big ride involving "rescue rafts" zooming around a splashing into huge puddles, you will get very wet on this ride, although they sell disposable poncos for around £1.50 if you don't want to get wet)
G force (One of my favourites, traditional style roller coaster, with a loop the loo, and lots of twists and turns, as the name implies, the high speeds and quick turns causes high levels of G forces)
shock wave (bit of a disappointment for me. The quickest ride, and some nice turns, but i preferred g force. )
apocolapse (Not been on this one due to time running out, but you get lifted up really high, then dropped straight back down again)
pendulum (the scariest one there, you sort of do "loops", there are two "carriages", one goes either way, look on google images to get an idea of what I am on about.
meastrom (may not be correct spelling) (This one is my absolute favorite, high speed, and turns, and a very original design. You sway back and forth on a big "circle" that turns whilst it sways!)
These are other smaller rides as well, I just listed some of the main ones and the bigger ones.
Rides not to go on include:
the "4d cinema", all it is iis a 3d cinema with water spalshing into your face every now and again, really quite bad.
The pirate ship 4 times in a row! When I did this, i was nearly sick.
Splash canyon, its just boring
There are also different places where you can eat, each with a different theme. There are these "spring chips" you must try if you go down and decide to eat there. My advice though is bring your own its quite expensive, and if you do buy food there, only get chips or something, too much will make you sick!
You can get a bus direct from Birmingham city centre from Colmore street, the bus fair for a day saver is just under a fiver, I can't remember the number of the bus sorry about that.
The entry ticket prices vary, the best deal is to go as a group. A family of 4 is £80 so one ticket comes out at around £20 this way, and obviously bigger groups get cheaper individual tickets, and vice versa! S if you are going, get loads of people to go, and make sure at least one person brings a back pack, so hold and photos, or prizes and food.
Summary: a must go
