Advantages: so much to do and see

Disadvantages: so far away!

Epcot is a one-of-a-kind theme park, which combines two very different worlds – World Showcase and Future World, which are based around a man-made lagoon

Future World is divided into various pavilions based on themes such as the land, the sea etc. Future World is actually very informative, but the education part is mixed with fun and thrills. The newest attraction in Future World is test-track which is an interactive ride which shows how cars are made and tested but also pushes you along at over 65mph at times.

My favourite part of Epcot is World Showcase. This is a group of pavilions representing eleven countries of the world. Believe me it is done very well. In each of the ‘countries’ shops sell things which are representative of that country and likewise the restaurants menus reflect the country’s native cuisine. In addition Epcot the Disney cast members working here are from the appropriate country under an exchange scheme. It is therefore possible to walk from Canada to Mexico in one day, passing Germany, USA, China and others on the way. Of coure everyone from the UK has to visit the UK pavilion. This includes the Rose & Crown pub, fish & chip takeaway and shops such as The Tea Caddy and Pringle of Scotland. The architecture is meant to representative although in the space of a few hundred metres you walk from a London square to rural countryside complete with a canal. Really the whole thing has to be seen to be believed, but I find it all great fun.

If you visit Epcot make sure you don’t miss the nightly Illuminations show. This is a spectacular display of fireworks, lasers and music played out on the lagoon

I remember EPCOT from many years ago when we took the kids. It's good to hear that they are still developing the place. It will make it worth visiting again next time we go back.

I remember when we were there that the two pavilions that really knocked us out were Norway and Mexico. The UK one was the most disappointing.
