Advantages: Fireworks, 2 Huge Worlds, About 15 Areas In Each World, BRILLIANT!!!

Disadvantages: None at all!

EPCOT stands for "Experimental Prototype Community Of Tomorrow". EPCOT was my favourite of all the Theme Parks at Disney World, mainly due to the absolutely amazing futuristic-ness of it.

EPCOT is split up into 2 huge areas, the futuristic part and the World Showcase.

FUTURISTIC

Well, what can I say, this is absolutely INCREDIBLE. There are around 20 pavillions, such as the body area, innoventions, undersea world, land, wonders of the earth, the list goes on and on. Each of these are in their own uniquely designed pavillions, which are incredible both to look at from the exterior and the contents inside are incredible. The rides are not comparible to anything you'll have ever been in your life at any of the UKs rubbish so-called "Theme Parks" before. In the UK, rides are simply rides. That's that. You queue up, bored out of your mind, for hours and when you finally get on the ride it's over in about 2 minutes. The rides at Disney world are nothing like this. For starters, you don't realise you're queueing. The yanks are amazing when it comes to pre-shows. Often, whilst "queueing" for a ride, you go into a huge amazing theatre, and are so blown away by what you watch that you think it is the ride!!! But that was just the QUEUE!!! So you are then led through by "cast members" (what us boring old Brits call "staff") to the actual ride, and you are just completely blown away! the rides are the most incredible experiences you have ever been on in your life, and often they were so good that me and my parents were moved to tears! REALLY! That is literally what the incredible Yanks can do.

Some of my favourite attractions in this part of Epcot were "Honey, I Shrunk The Audience" which was amazing. I won't spoil it for you, but all I can say is that it is FAR FAR FAR more than JUST a 3D Show. It is in even more dimensions than 3, and if you have a fear
of snakes or mice DO NOT participate in this experience! The "Wonders Of Life" pavillion is another must-see experience. This is all to do with the human body, and our rubbish attempt at it was one of the most over-rated experiences ever, the absolute shambles of the "body" zone at the Dome. Another must-experience is the "Innoventions" area. This is full of totally intercative experiences to do with anything and everything to do with how we eill live together and communicate in the future. It is INCREDIBLE!

WORLD SHOWCASE

This is made up of brilliant replicas of 11 countries around the world, such as the UK, USA, France, Germany, Japan, Norway, Italy etc. etc. This is amazing. Each country has delightful restaurants relevent to that country, rides, shows and loads of attractions all of which is executed brilliantly. It really feels like you're actually in that country. One of my favourite attractions in World Showcase was the "Maelstrom" ride in Norway. this was very similar to the latest ride at Blackpool, "Valhalla".

THE FIREWORKS

Now I couldn't finish my EPCOT review without mentioning the fireworks. Words, pictures, or video CANNOT describe how BREATHTAKING these were. Forgot any fireworks you've ever seen in the UK, they are all just little backyard displays in comparison to this.

We also visited EPCOT some years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. It is very different from the Magic Kingdom. There are no "thrill" rides such as you find there or in the UK at Alton Towers for example. EPCOT is an "educational" park but they do it in a fun way mostly. The Millenium Dome is similar though on a far smaller scale.

I too thought that the Norway pavillion (how about that!) was by far the best, followed by Mexico. The UK one was by far the worst.

When we were there the 3D show starred Michael Jackson.

There are actually very few real *rides* as such at Epcot. I agree though that the 3D experience is brilliant and well done for not spoiling it!!
It would improve the review in my view at least (and hey, that's just one opinion among many!) if you were enthusiastic about Epcot without being so negative about UK parks......I've done loads of US and UK parks, and yes, there's a difference, but it would be more constructive to talk about how you notice those differences.....
