Disadvantages: Expensive restaurants to eat, Lots of crazy english

Faliraki Water Park is located in Greece on the Island of Rhodes. Rhodes is a small island of Greece with one airport. Being such a small island, it doesn't take long to head to Faliraki for this amazing water park. Faliraki is a very English area, and not a great place to be at night if you don't like the drunken English! The water park is fantastic and has loads of unique slides and rides. To start, here are the prices for the water park:

Toddlers (0-3 Years Old) - FREE!
Children (3-12 Years Old) - Euro15
Adults (12+) - Euro20

These prices aren't bad at all comparing them to Theme Park prices or other attractions where you could spend a whole day. The people who were at the water park weren't the nicest bunch, but they were ok. For the unique and exciting number of rides, I would say this was a fair price to pay. The water park is open from May 5th to October 31st. In the cooler months, the opening times are 9:30-18:00, however they are 9:30-19:00 in the warmer months of June, July and August.

As for attractions, you are spoilt for choice really. There is a multi slide, which I found really fun. It is a really wide slide and they allow two down it at a time. When I say wide, I mean metres. It has a shallow stream of water going down, and you slide down it nicely! It is quite fun and very unique.

The lazy river is the perfect option for relaxing without being chucked down an 80 degree slide. The rubber rings were a bit hard to grab, but once you had one you could go to one of the entrances for the river (stairs) and get in on your ring. The river is very calm and slow and will take you around the river and through a tunnel too! In the middle were plenty of sun-bathing deck chairs and tables.

There were a couple of rides that were similar. They were similar in the way they were both quite slow. One was a larger slide as you went down it on a rubber ring. This could also be done with a two-seater rubber boat. This was called the giant slide. There is also a narrow slide called the black hole. Not one to dare yourself on if you are claustrophobic, but it was an experience! You go down the slide at a good speed, but it is totally pitch black as you go down! You should hear the screams of some people going down this one!

Oh yes, then we have the free fall slide! This one is literally a straight drop. However, there is some angle to the slide meaning you don't drop to the bottom and go splat. It is extremely steep and you shoot down it quicker than ever! It is extremely worrying at the top when you cannot see the bottom as it is so steep. You slow down quickly in the long section after the drop, until you fall into the pool, around 1 metre deep. There is also a turbo slide and kamikaze slide either side. The tubo one has a twisting end and is very fast. The kamikaze is the most popular of the park and is terrifying! I went on it, but I'm not sure I'd do it again. Rather than going straight down, there is a little ledge that actually flips you in the air a bit! It is straight and steep until the ledge, which sends you flying down the rest of the steep slide.

Another favourite of mine was a huge half pipe. It is called ths sting ray. You grab a ring, and you climb the tower to the top. It is quite high indeed! I was so scared at the top when I was sitting, ready to be launched and the man said 'hold on tight'! Anyway, you get some momentum going, and then he launches you off the edge for you to fly high up the other side of the half pipe shape. The G-Force is felt a bit, and it is a fast and scary ride! Some people go flying off their ring, which is funny but sometimes painful!

Overall, it is a great park. There are plenty of rides, and even more than I have mentioned. There is also a good old space bowl, where you shoot down a dark tunnel and end up in a bowl where you spin round and round and drop into a deep pool! This one is scary, and at the speed I was going, I flipped up round the roof on the closed pipe as I shot down. This was due to a corner that wasn't even sharp, but I was going so fast! I didn't like the way the people were all round the space bowl watching you come out the pipe and circle around it, before dropping into the pool below via the centre hole. There was also a huge wave pool, which was much fun! There are plenty of places to eat, but the prices aren't cheap. The admission fee isn't bad at all, and I would recommend you pay this place a visit!

Summary: A great water park with many slides that are all different!
