Advantages: Great range of slides and flumes

Disadvantages: A lot of walking uphill

I recently went to Rhodes with a group of mates and following a large night out, we needed some waking up, so one of us suggested going to the local water park he'd seen advertised.

A taxi from Faliraki itself to the water park was very cheap at 5 Euros and entry was fairly cheap at 20 Euros per adult for the whole day. The day we went the park had an ideal amount of people, not too busy so queues were short and sharp (sometimes non existent) and not too quiet so that it lacked atmosphere.

I have heard the park is the largest in Europe and I would not be suprised if this was the case because it truly was massive, with slides and flumes etc to suit every age group. Obviously being young lads, me and my mates enjoyed the ridiculously high, hairy rides and kept going on them time and time again. Some were exceptionally fast, so much so, they took your breath away! On occasion, on some of the near vertical slides, you actually come off the slide for a second or two, but not to worry it's perfectly safe (and incredibly enjoyable)!

There were also smaller slides for kids in the childrens' area of the park which also included a pirates' ship among other attractions. Flumes with rubber rings were also abundant, where you can go fast (even in pairs on a double rubber ring) but not as scary as the really big rides!

Sunbathing facilities are heavily available, as are toilet and eating facilitites. The park also includes a gift shop near to where the lockers are, where of course you can keep your belongings safe for the entire day, costing only a small deposit. This really is fun for all the familiy and also great for young adults, don't write it off as not scary enough because a couple of my mates refused to go on a couple of the really big slides!

However, a word of warning, be prepared for a lot of walking, especially uphill to access the majority of the slides. So if you're not a keen walker or suffer from anything that may prevent you constantly ascending to the top where the slides begin, I would advise against the water park. Otherwise though, we did not struggle with this element and therefore had a superb time!

Summary: Great day out when on holiday
