Advantages: lots for the kids, fantastic zoo
Disadvantages: entrance fee pricey
We went to flamingo land in April, was a beautiful sunny day and rather quiet as not quite peak season yet!
*parking*
As it was a quiet day, it was really easy to park, there is a massive car park right outside the park anyway, which is fantastic and best of all its free!
*finding flamingo land*
We came from Huddersfield, so traveled down the M1 and A1, past York and into the area where Flamingo land is. We found the sign posts easy to read and the signs for the park early so we easily changed lanes and came off at the correct junctions. We did all of this, 3 young ladies, with out a sat nav too, so it is very easy!
*big scary rides*
I love scary rides and found a few to entertain myself, with loops and drops and upside down bits! Saying that for the entrance price of £27 I was a bit dissapointed with the number of rides, although a lot has been invested into the zoo, which i'll review later! Over all plenty to ocupy myself for a couple of hours, all with no queues!
*Mild rides*
There was quite a selection of these slighty scary rides, a mouse trap one and gentler roller coasters. There were good for older kids who are not quite brave enough for big one, but too big for the tea cups!
*kids rides*
The park is well equipped with a variety of kids rides where mums and dads can join in too. There were plenty of kids on our visit who were all enjoying themselves on the rides, as well as in the 3D sponge bob show!
*Food*
There were a few restaurants, which were very reasonably priced! About £6 for an all you can eat pizza buffet! We choose to get a tray of chips, which were about £3 but you got plenty!
There is also a big sweety shop for the kids to enjoy!
*Zoo*
This was the best part of the park, with a huge range of animals including flamingos, lions, monkeys, meercats etc. They all had plenty of space and very natural surroundings. I dont normally like zoos but this was fantastic! Also a lot of facts dotted around about each animal!
Overall I enjoyed the day, but thought the entrance fee of £27 was over priced for the amount of 'adult' rides. A great day out for the family, but not sure I would go again unless they build some more rides!
Summary: a great day out, especialy for the kids!
