Advantages: Fun Family Holiday, All in One Place, Superb Roller Coasters, Cheap, Entertaining

Disadvantages: Queues

Flamingo land, Kirby Misperton, North Yorkshire used to be a collection of rides in a field which sadly lacked the magic of a top level theme park, this however has all changed since our last visit 5 years ago.

The rubble beneath the rides has been landscaped, music has been added to the experience and the aesthetic view of the place has much improved. Many people report that there is an issue with height restrictions but we found this not to be the case with our average heighted eight year old being allowed on all but one ride (Flip Flop). The Roller Coasters are on a par with any park in the UK.

Mumbo Jumbo although much hyped is quite mild, the Kumali is a furiously impressive inversion coaster which chews up the infusion at blackpool but the jewel in the crown is Velocity, possibly the best and fastest starting coaster in Britain. A collection of typical fairground rides, reasonable arcades with ample two pence machines to keep the kids happy for a while and many eating areas enhance the experience with sensory delights.

We stayed on the park for a week in a lovely static caravan, booked Through www.flamingo-land-caravans.co.uk which cost us £550 and theme park entrance for the week cost £185 totalling £735 which is a nice saving against booking directly through the park of £149.

We had access to a reasonable free swimming pool, the site shop was cheap and the two evening venues supplied us with a high standard of entertainment. Flamingoland has a very good zoo which would be a success as a stand alone attraction, we found the keepers willing to engage with us and the surroundings were very nice, the zoo adds a nice change of pace from the hectic theme park.

Our only issue was with queuing for the big rides on the park but we went in August which is the busiest time so would recommend any other month, that said the queueing time for the marquee rides was 20 minutes so not as bad as some parks either.

The surrounding area is beautiful and very rural with typical old english villages to explore. Finally the security team on park maintains a highly visible presence and we saw no trouble of any kind. All in an excellent holiday.

Summary: Excellent Holiday, Value For Money

Not for me all that rushing up and down things, but a good review.

It would be helpful if you set it out in paragraphs so that it is easier to read as it is quite a good review.
