Advantages: Good for families
Disadvantages: Not as good as Alton Towers
Flamingo Land Theme Park & Zoo, Near Malton York
This theme park and zoo has more than 100 rides - the well know white knuckle rides are The Terroriser, The Bullet, The Wild Mouse and Magnum Force (Triple looping rollercoaster) The rides are fun, but not scary. Family Rides are Go Gator and Traditional Carousel. Kiddies Rides are Junior Driving School and Clown Ride. New rides for this year are 55 meter cliffhanger and kids frog hopper. Little Monsters' Den of Mischief, is a fun attraction for all the family. You have Sky Rail and Train to move around the Park.
The zoo is home to 1,000 animals and you can take in one of the family shows which are Sea-lion, Monster Music, Blombergs Tombs of Terror, Cabaret Night ! and The Parrot show.
This theme park is ideal for families. Drayton Manor Park is similar but if you live in the North of England and have families then this is ideal for you. The cost of a day out is fair value. It also works out cheaper if several families go together (Cheaper entrance fee for groups)

Opening times
Flamingo Land is open every day from 24th March to 3rd November 2002. The theme park & Zoo opens daily at 10am and closes at 5pm on weekdays and 6pm on weekends.
Admission Prices
Single adult/child - £13.50
Family ticket (for any four people) - £50.00
Senior citizens - £6.75
Children 3 and under - Free

How to get there
The Park is in North Yorkshire located just off the A169 Malton to Pickering road (off the A64) and is well signposted. The local train station is at Malton - for further details please call 0345 48 49 50. By bus, the Nation
al Express drops off at York (Tel 08705 808080) and from York, you can catch the Yorkshire Coastliner, (Tel 01653 692 556 or 0113 244 8976) or from York Railway Station, which drops off at Flamingo Land. From Cleveland, Arriva operate a coach service, please call 0870 608 2608 for details.
