Advantages: Lots to do all day long!

Disadvantages: Parent pressure to spend more than is wanted.

Newquay?s Holywell Bay is a fun packed park with free entry and parking and is designed for pure amusement and entertainment only. It claims to be one of ?the friendliest parks in the Westcountry?. It is fun for all the family, but ideal for eight-year olds upwards.

The park allows its visitors to play for as long as they like, spending as much or as little as they want to. All rides is required is to purchase tokens. Rides are paid for by tokens purchased at the main kiosk. The more you buy the cheaper they become! Warning some of the rides has height restrictions, due to Health and Safety Regulations.

**What is there**

Adventure Golf, a bit like crazy golf.

Arcade

Battle boats, water based game with boats. You can splash the on looking crowds!

Bugg Buggies, a motorised ride.

Bumper Boats, rides like bumper cars at the fair ground, but in water instead.

Café and Toilets

Climbing Wall, needs to be seen to be believed! Harnesses and hard hats are provided.

Enhanced F1 Kart Track

Ice Cream Parlour, a must for any ice cream lover!

Junior Kart Track, try passing a driving test here!

Kiddy Karts

Laser Orbitors, another motorised ride. A bit like go-karts

Merlin?s Maze, a giant maze. Solve it to win a prize!

Pit Pat Pool, found with the Climbing Wall.

Planet Holywell, indoor games suitable for younger children

Power Cruisers, miniature boats controlled from dry land.

Rio Grand Train, a miniature railway. Locally known as the ChataNewquay choo-choo!

Thunder Tracks.

There is a Pitch and Putt Golf Course. I am no golf player but it seems ideal for practising shots for accuracy.

Plus losts more but I do not wish to bore you.

**Parent pressure**

As many of the amusements are pay per ride there can be pressure place on the parents from both the
advertisers and children alike to demand rides to make them better parents.

**How to get there**

Newquay?s Holywell Bay is well sign posted (with brown tourist signs) and found about three miles out of Newquay, just off the Newquay to Redruth Road, on the A3075. It is situated on ˝ a mile from the beach.

**Opening Times**

From early April to late May, plus October half term: from 11am daily.
From late May to early September: from 10am daily.
For the rest of the year the park is open Sunday, Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday only from 11am.

NB. The Pitch and Putt is open daily from 8am.

All in all it is a great day out for the family. I would advise taking a picnic lunch as the food in the café can be a little pricey and there is limited choice too.

I think I would feel resentful about the parental pressure! Sue :O}
