A fantastic day out for families with pre-schoolers (Legoland Windsor)

Advantages: Variety of attractions, location, suitability

Disadvantages: Price if no vouchers are available!

It was a bit of a trek for us down to Windsor from Yorkshire however our trip to Legoland was worth every minute.

We went with friends and we both have pre-schoolers aged 2.5 and 3 so I was slightly aprehensive about what the suitability of the attractions would be for this age range, I needn't have been concerned however! Out of the vast array of attractions, there were only 2 rides that my (quite small for his age) 2.5 year old couldn't use. Most of the rides have a minimum of 90cm height restriction.

Our favourite ride was the motorised boats; my little boy loved the fact that we 'crashed' into our friends' boat and that he could steer and direct us around the little course. Another popular attraction was the train that took you from the top of the hill to the bottom and back again - a god send at the end of the day when the last thing two tired toddlers want to do is walk miles to the exit.

The new lazer train was a great interactive ride, there are little guns attached to the train and you have to aim and shoot for red lights around the course. My aim is rubbish! But it was good fun to see the points summary at the end, and the pics were hilarious.

We didn't really eat much other than a baguette for lunch which was actually not out of the way price-wise. There was a good variety of products in the shops, I'm a sucker and bought a lego ice-cube tray, a lego key-ring and I treat my son to a Duplo garage set, advertiser's dream, me!

We used Tesco buy one get one free vouchers and my son was free so it was a good value day out. We actually managed to get a cheap deal on the Windsor central travel lodge so we really made the most of our trip. Would love to go again next year, especially if the vouchers are available again as otherwise we would be paying over £100 entrance as a family, wow!

I could talk about Legoland for ever.
