Leisure World

Leisure World is a complex in Hemel Hempstead England where you can bowl, Swim or take in a movie. The complex is in Jarman Park, about 2 miles from Junction 7 on the M1 next to Tesco's supermarket. The complex has been there for a number of years and was a part of my Childhood. The complex has a small water park call aqua splash, an ice skating rink called Silver blades, an Empire Cinema, a bowling alley, arcade, bar and a pizza hut. Just to let you know that the two clubs visage and ethos have closed down .They now have two new clubs called ignite and lava also the cinema is no longer called odeon it is now called Empire cinema.The cinema changed just a couple of days ago.The reason this has changed is because it was built in 1995.It was a temporary building and was only meant to stay open 6 years. What a great concept let down by poor implementation. Basic principles of Jarman Park Swimming is great. The place is an out and out leisure pool. No lengths, just fun. Now that's the good side out of the way, what's the real story? The pools are cold, and I mean very cold. Leisure swimming is not a high energy work out, it's a splash around in the pool. My children swim for their town and they are used to swimming 40 lengths as warm up in a pool where the temp is cool! They commented that the place was freezing. I visit Hemel Leisure World quite regulary and i find it fabulous.I usually go to auqa splash.The last two times that i have been to auqa splash there has been a problem with either the rides or some other thing. The most recent time i went was only a couple of days ago and there was a problem with some of the rides so they were closed and the water temperature was very cold, we got a discount for this but it was no where near as good. If you visit Hemel then you are more than likely to pay a visit to Leisure world (or wolly world as locals call it) at Jarman's park. The site has many attractions and most of them are quite good. As you walk in the door you will first notice the multi screen cinema complex, which is pretty good. Most screens have air conditioning and surround sound, the only problem is that they do tend to miss out the smaller films to show the big movies on three screens.
