Advantages: So much to do and see, the scenery is beautiful

Disadvantages: May be a little expensive.

Longleat Safari Park is a fantastic day out for the family. It's beautiful and there is lots to do so make sure you have a full day there.

Longlete is situated in Warminster, Wiltshire. A passport ticket which allows you into all areas including the beautiful longleat house is £23 for adults, £15 for children and £17 senior citizens. Those prices are based on online prices which I think has a 5% discount on at the minute.

Apart from the Safari park which takes just over an hour to go through there is many other attractions like large hedge maze which is loads of fun for both adults and children, The safari boat is one of my particular favourites as it takes you around a lake which is home to two hippotamus and in the middle is gorilla island. There is a railway running around the park and there is many other free attractions.

The safari is fantastic. We took the bus as I really wanted to go through the monkey enclosure but I didn't want my car destroyed! There is some advantages and disadvantages with going round on the bus. One advantage is that if your normally the driver of the car you get to see more from the bus as you don't have to concentrate on the road or other drivers stopping in front of you. Another advantage is you get closer to the action as the bus cuts onto the grass and goes in areas where the cars can't! One disadvantage is that if you are on the wrong side of the bus you may miss some things as people tend to stand up taking photo's and the second disadvantage is the bus does not stop for you to walk through the wallaby area and giraffe viewing platform.

I was lucky enough to go round at feeding time which was fantastic to watch the lions and wolves ripping apart their meat and fighting over it. I got some fantastic photo's.

I was lucky enough to live near to longleat when I was younger and in the early morning you could hear the faint sound of the lions roaring from longleat, it was great!

It is a little expensive but there is so much to do and the park is huge. There is a lake which I think you can actually fish from but I would recommend checking out the website before hand. www.longleat.co.uk

All in all it is a fantastic day out, the area is beautiful and Stonehenge isn't that far away!

Worth every penny

Summary: Great family day out!
