Advantages: Where shall I start, great animals, beautiful location.

Disadvantages: Too much to see and do!

I have now been to longleat twice and loved each day so very much. I do not live near, but it is well worth the long journey. There is so much to do at Longleat that the most important piece of advice I can give is to make sure you have a full day there to really make the most of what is on offer.

You can either buy a passport which includes entrance to everything, or you can buy entrance to each bit individually. You can buy tickets on the door, or in advance for a slight reduction in price.

On your entrance you can chose the order in which to do things, or at least what to do first. I would recommend doing the safari first as it gets busy and you see more when there are less cars around. For the safari you drive through monekys and lions (amongst other animals) you can either go in your car (beware it can get destroyed by those pesky monkeys!) or you can take the safari bus. This is one experience not to be missed out.

There are plenty of animals you can see out of the safari too, there is the african area, with giraffe and zebras just walking around, which is very bizarre to see. There is also a butterfly garden, a water safari which takes you to gorilla island) and looking inside the longleat house.

This really is an amazing fun packed day out.
