Stunning displays in a well kept park.

Reading the first review has prompted me to register and post one of my own.

I visited Marine Land in July and despite the steep admission fee, 124 euro for 2 adults and 2 children, I would strongly recommend a visit.

All the animal encosures were immaculate and obviously well kept. The shark tunnel was an experience not to be missed and I had to practically bribe my kids to get them out. The seal, dolphin, and whale displays were stunning and we even went to see one of them twice. WE did find, however, that you need to be their at least 15 minutes before the show starts to get a good seat.

My one critcism would be that picnics are not allowed and there is not a great choice of food outlets. Also the prices for drinks in the vending machines are exhorbiant, 3 euro for a small botle of water.

In all we spent over 8 hours at the park and did not notice the time going by.

I thought places like this were outlawed all over the world, let alone in France, supposedly a first world country. On first impressions, the place looks clean and tidy, there's a brand spanking new pool complex for the Killer Whales and the Dolphin compound looks lovely. However, the shows proved to be something else. Now I've been to Florida and done Seaworld, so I may be biased here, but the "entertainment" provided by the Whale & Dolphin Shows was third rate. The animals were obviously not interested in what the trainers were doing and were more interested in flexing their fins in the openness of the large "show" pools, having obviously been left in the "holding" pools for hours on end. And that's not all..... The Loggerhead Turtles pool was filthy. I'm talking, green slimy water, with nowhere for them to get out and bask in the sun. All of the turtles were trying to climb up the vertical walls to get out of the water - absolutely heartbreaking. Coming to the piece-de-resistance, the King Penguin house. I have never been so close to vomiting in a public situation (apart from being lagered-up obviously!) than in this "display". The penguins were all standing very close together, looking thoroughly depressed and some of them had obviously been in there that long that their feet were the same shade of green as the water - APPALLING!!!!! and the smell - well that was something else. At £15 per head, the guy (who I've since found out is English) who owns this place, obviously has money to throw around, since Marineland is absolutely packed out for 4 months of the year. I for one, will be penning him a very strong letter in the not so-distant future. Somebody close this place down will ya?
