Advantages: Amazing show exhibiting amazing skill and giving an insight into the creation of stunts
Disadvantages: Could make more of the atmosphere
Moteurs Action Stunt Show Spectacular is a fantastic attraction at Disneyland Paris, which basically follows a director and film crew as they set about filming the stunts for a new film.
Unless you want seats right at the front, there seems little point in arriving at the attraction before they begin to let people in, or else you just end up queuing for half an hour. The stadium is pretty huge, and so there is plenty room, ao as long as you arrive in good time for the show, you should be able to get a reasonable view.
As you enter the attraction, the first thing you see are all the seats on your left and then you notice that the seats are facing a the film set of a small town. On your way to your seat you can collect a drink from the venders selling beverages at the bottom. The seats are just hard blue benches, and on a good day, the atmosphere is much like you'd imagine an american football game atmosphere to be like. I would advise that those with young children don't sit too close to the front as the finale of the show includes a lot of pyro technics which are very hot and my yuong nephew was very scared by it. Also watch out and don't sit directly behind the steel fence at the front as it can leave quite a restricted view. The very front rows are reserved for those with physical disabilities, i.e. wheel chairs, etc.
At the start of the show, the audiance is introduced to the director and the film crew, who as for a volunteer from the audiance, who later on gets to drive a car, and I won't spoil it by saying anything more than that!
Then we are introduced to the cars, which are the hero in the red care and four villains in the black cars. The opening sequence is the Car Ballet scene, which is just amazing! The cars speed around each other, narrowly missing each other as the villains chase the hero in what is a superbly choeographed and amazingly well executed routine which must require so much talent and training. The precision parking, featuring all five cars, is particularly awesome.
Next, the director introduces the drivers in the car and also a little surprise cheat in the routine; it's all very interesting, and as well as being amazing to watch, it really doesgive the audiance a sneak peak into the production of stunts for films.
There is then another spectacular stunt featuring now also motorbikes (again, I don't want ot reveal too much) before the end result is played on a large screen for the audiance to watch, followed by a spectacular finale.
I think everybody would enjoy this show; I don't know how you couldn't be impressed by the skill needed to perform it. It is very noisy though, with the car engines and fake gun fire, and there is a very potent smell of burning rubber! As well as the flames at the end, so it might not be great for everyone, but it depends on the individual. The stunts seem to be performed safely with great concern taken, so that makes it more comfortable to watch, and also, we watched it twice last time we were in Disneyland, and we saw two different teams of performers doing it, so there are obviously quite a few teams to make sure they all get a good rest inbetween! Both teams were equally good though.
The show lasts for about 45 minutes, and the last time we went there was another motorcyclist doing warm up tricks to keep the audiance amused and you could meet the performers at the end and have pictures, etc.
I also filmed some of the show and took pictures, as did many other people, and there seemed to be no objection to this. The only things which might improve it would be to have some foam hands for the audiance and maybe to sell food up and down the stands, just to add that extra bit of atmosphere.
It is a great show also to go and give your legs a rest from all that tiring walking around the park! You can find times for it the board outside, as well as in the show times leaflet at the gates of the park. However, the show may have to be cancelled on certain days due to weather, etc.
Summary: A great show which I think would appeal to most people, although may be scary for youngsters
