Oakwood is West Wales's premier theme park. It boasts the worlds largest wooden rollercoaster Megaphobia - although I must say it is significantly smaller than many of its steel counterparts. Having said that Meagphobia is a fantastic white knuckle ride. Although it is not an old rollercoaster it does have that old feel, perhaps it is made all the better that your not bolted into the seat like you are with many newer style rollercoasters. oakwoods perhaps most unique ride is vertigo. Oakwood is a family run theme park in pembrokeshire about 10 min drive from Haverfordwest and about 10 min from Tenby. I have lived in pembrokeshire for around 20 years and this park has grown and grown every year to compete with the bigger parks such as Alton Towers and Thorpe Park. Built into the welsh country side, the park now has over 21 rides or activites for all ages. For the smaller children it offers the lost kingdom which includes soft activity areas for kids to run, climb and cause general chaos.Whilst outside it offers play town consisting of childrens rollercoasters and teacups. Mini Golf, the Wacky factory and Brear Rabbits garden complete the ... Read the complete review

However despite it being school summer holidays it felt like the park wasn't properly open as there seemed to be the minimum number of cars on the rides in operation which just meant that the queues were longer - and when you are queuing in torrential rain it feels even worse! The best rides we went on were Megafobia which is a wooden rollercoaster and although it isn't perhaps as scary as the white knuckle rides of Thorpe Park it was the ... Read the complete review

Oakwood Park is Wales' biggest theme park. It is located in Pembrokeshire, in the South-west of Wales, a popular spot with tourists from all over the UK and beyond. I first visited Oakwood as an 11 year old in 2002. Since then, I have been another 3 times, the most recent in the summer of 2007, so I guess I can say I've experienced Oakwood at different stages in my life! The most positive thing I can say about the park is that it has something for everyone. Had I been a few years younger when I first went, I would've thoroughly enjoyed what family rides and entertainment they have on site, for example the Brer Rabbit Lair. The rides that appealed to ...
