Advantages: Suits all ages, good value

Disadvantages: Queues could have been speeded up, food outlets not great

We recently visited Oakwood Park when on holiday in Pembrokeshire in July 2009 and realise that my experience of the day is going to be slightly tainted by the fact it chucked down with rain for most of the time we were there. However despite it being school summer holidays it felt like the park wasn't properly open as there seemed to be the minimum number of cars on the rides in operation which just meant that the queues were longer - and when you are queuing in torrential rain it feels even worse!
The best rides we went on were Megafobia which is a wooden rollercoaster and although it isn't perhaps as scary as the white knuckle rides of Thorpe Park it was the most enjoyable rollercoaster I've been on, you felt as if you had left the track with every bump. We also enjoyed the toboggan ride where you sit on sledges either individually or with a child and control your own speed on the descent, great fun.
There are a number of water rides including the Hydro which everyone seemed to come off drenched from. There is a great indoor play area for younger children - under 1.3m or so and gives an opportunity to dry off and some smaller rides just outside this area so I would say this park is suitable for all ages.
It has a lovely family feel and if only all the rides had been fully operational and fully staffed I would have been happy to buy a return ticket for another, dryer day - you can pay £8 to come back another time.
We used Tesco vouchers to buy tickets and we needed £80 worth to pay for a family of 5.

Summary: Great day out for all the family

I do love the 'woodies' best. I adore The Grand National at Blackpool, Susan
