Advantages: Big Rides but enough for everyone too

Disadvantages: Ques in summer

Oakwood is a family run theme park in pembrokeshire about 10 min drive from Haverfordwest and about 10 min from Tenby.

I have lived in pembrokeshire for around 20 years and this park has grown and grown every year to compete with the bigger parks such as Alton Towers and Thorpe Park. Built into the welsh country side, the park now has over 21 rides or activites for all ages. For the smaller children it offers the lost kingdom which includes soft activity areas for kids to run, climb and cause general chaos.Whilst outside it offers play town consisting of childrens rollercoasters and teacups. Mini Golf, the Wacky factory and Brear Rabbits garden complete the kids section .. plenty to keep them ammused.

For the adults there are fun rides such as the pirate ship which has been there for years but is still a laugh and also the tree tops coaster which was Oakwoods first coaster ride, its small but fast and whips you round the woods so its still a good ride to experiance. Two of the water rides, waterfall and snake river falls envolve sitting on boars or rafts and shooting down a slide eventually getting wet .. all great fun!

The larger rides include the bounce and Vertigo which costs an extra £10 which hoists you up above a giant arch and lets you pull your own cord to drop and swing in terror for a few mins. This is a good ride to prepare you for the big three at Oakwood.

Megaphobia is (or was) the largest wooden rollercoaster in europe and is great fun as you can hear the creaks of the track as you go along, cues can be long for these rides in peak summer as everyone wants a go on the big three!!! but thats what you have to expect.

Hydro is a giant vertical water drop rollercoaster .. YOU WILL GET WET!!! as a wave of water hits you when you decend .. its literally a straight climb and one drop into water ... GREAT FUN!!

An Speed is the final biggie .. a rollercoaster that twists and turns up to 95mph .. enough said, it amazing!

Also at Oakwood is a spooky 3D cinema, boating lake and bobsleigh that winds around the park. With Plenty of food outlets to keep everyone going for the day and even night opening in the summer with a show and fireworks this is a great day out. If you can bear the ques in the summer then please go and enjoy yourself.

Summary: Great theme park .. Good for all ages
