Premium Review Southport Pleasure Land Value for Money (102 words)

I recently visited Southport Pleasure Land for the first time in 10 years and it turned out to be good value for money. It was well within walking distance of the train station (which was also cheap)and the local McDonalds, and there are a number of good rides within the best obviosly being the traumatizer, which could rival Alton Towers' Nemesis if it was a bit bigger. There were also a number of other top quality rides one such ride being Chaos and also the mine train. So a day out including entry, train and McDonalds for under 20 quid, money well spent. ...  Read the complete review

Pleasureland = Great  (158 words)

This summer was the first time i had visited pleasureland southport and i was pleasantly surprised. First of all , the rides : TraumaTIZER - A great inverted rollercoaster, like the Nemesis at Alton Towers. Well worth the admission price alone Cyclone - A good old fashioned wooden rollercoaster which even smallish children can ride. It has great views. King Solomin's Mines - A fast mine cart rollercoaster Chaos - A weird, one of a kind ride, but brilliant all the same. You are spun upside down and around many times There are also many other rides for both adults and children including a log flume and another rollercoaster for older people and ...  Read the complete review

Southport Pleasureland is surely one the best kept secrets in the northwest,Not on the scale of other fairgrounds it does however,keep the kids busy for hours on end. When we first went to southport we took a picnic,went to the beach and later in the day tried out the fairground also known as Pleasureland.Needless to say the kids had a whale of a time,the rides were great value,certainly in comparison to other places,with a good variety for all ages. Having two children aged 10 and 7,I found more than enough to keep them happy,so happy in fact when we now go to Southport they don`t even want to go to the beach.Its straight to the fair. ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review RIP....Pure Pleasure in Pleasureland (402 words)

Update: 2006 closed down...a sad loss! Its owners, Blackpool Pleasure Beach, picked through the bones taking the best ride (Traumatiser) for its own park. Although the site has been leased out to new owners for 2007/8, I have yet to visit. I doublt it could have retained its previous appeal Just ask my daughter what she thinks of Pleasureland. Each and every time we go...its first in, last out! Its a great place and superb value. It is expensive during the school vacations, but even £12.99 for a 'white knuckle' wrist band is excellent value. Try out of season or obtain one of the many reduced price offers or vouchers for even better value. They ...  Read the complete review
