Port Aventura is in Spain, it is a theme park that is split into five different themes which are China, Far West, Mediterrania, Mexico and Polynesia. These lands are all decorated alike the country they are named after, the attention paid to the decoration is brilliant and it really gives you that fun theme park feeling.

There is also a water park called the Costa Caribe which has an in and outdoor pool and some really good rides within it, there are different slides and rafting slides and a nice place to relax and catch a tan in this park. The water park is clean and has pleasant caribean surroundings. This park is only open in the summer period of the year, it can be very busy but is a great place to visit when you are visiting Port Aventura.

There are a good selection of rides in the Port Aventura park including the Dragon Khan which is a really great rollarcoaster with lots of loops and inversions, Furious Baco which is a high speed ride that goes from 0-135km in 3 seconds and Stampida a great fast wooden rollarcoaster where two carriages race eachother around two similar tracks.

There are also a range of shows in the park that are great to watch and that provide you with even more entertainment as you are walking around from land to land.

There are lots of nice restaurants within the park that serve spanish, mexian and other style food, these restaurants can be very expensive compared to the other fast food places to eat, as in any park, the quality of the fast food can be hit and miss and I found that the selection of food was quite poor. I may have been easily put off but I was more tempted by the spanish restaurants in Salou town than the over priced fast food in the park.

Overall I thought that this was a great holiday destination, however beware when you are pricing this holiday as sometimes you can get to the states for a similar price (which I prefere although you may not).

The park is a great holiday filled with entertainment, but it lacks that magic that Disney provides, though Spanish weather is sometimes better than French weather. I recommend this park to people who love a good active theme park holiday, and I really enjoyed my time there, though I dont think I will be visiting it again soon.

We took the kids there many years ago when we were on holiday further down the coast at Miami Playa. The Stampida wasn't open then; it was still being built. Had a great time though.
