Port Aventura is a theme park in Salou, Spain. I visited in July 2008, and it is by far the BEST theme park I have ever been to. (I have only been to theme parks in the UK, and this)

GENERAL INFO
When I visited, there were 5 different AREAS to the park: Meditteranean, Far west, Mexico, China and Polynesia. There is one extra new area now called SesamoAventura (Sesame Street), this is just for children. Each area is themed, so for example, China has Chinese dragons, and Chinese themed stalls and rides.

Meditteranea is situated by the enterance and includes rides such as FURIOUS BACO (rollercoaster - fastest in Europe) and BOAT RIDE (transport ride taking visitors to China area).

Far West is the largest area, and is themed like the wild west. Rides include STAMPIDA (wooden rollercoaster - 2 trains race one another), TOMAHAWK (smaller version of Stampida, for children), GRAND CANYON RAPIDS, (rapids where passers by can squirt people on the ride) and SILVER RIVER FLUME (log flume)

Mexico has a Mayan theme and has more thrilling rides such as TEMPLE OF FIRE (a walk through ride like Indiana Jones with fire shows), and HURAKAN KONDOR (my favourite, a tower drop ride where your seats tilt - one of the tallest in the world).

China has TEA CUPS for children as well as other small rides, as well as the largest ride in the park, DRAGON KHAN (rollercoaster with 8 inversions - definitely worth it! Is ranked as one of the best rollercoasters in the world)

Polynesia is more laid back but includes TUTUKI SPLASH (giant log flume - you get absolutely DRENCHED) and SEA ODYESSY (4D cinema)

Port Aventura is also one of the best decorated theme parks I have been to - the areas are well designed and decorated and there is lots of detail constantly portrayed around the park - Polynesia is stunning.

PRICES
Are around 40 Euros per person (adult) but change through the seasons - to keep updated visit the website for prices (just google Port Aventura)

MY OPINION
Port Aventura is my favourite theme park and I will definitly be visiting again. We went in July, and the longest we queued was 20 mins for a ride. I absolutely loved it.
