Safari World, located in the outskirts of Bangkok is one of Thailand's best attractions. This is a really amazing place, especially if you're one who marvels the wild and enjoys observing animals in their natural habitat. You can decide between taking a guided tour (offered by many tour operators in the city) or go there independently. We selected the former as it was not too expensive compared with getting there independently and buying the tickets ourselves, as well as we felt having a local guide would help us experience all that there is to see without missing out on anything. This is a great place to go with children from 2 - 15 years old. It is a safari park - where you can drive through a tarrain where there is an array of animals and then back to the entrance to walk around the park itself. Here it is more like a typical zoo, with enclosed animals and feeding times. The big difference with this place compared to your typical zoos are firstly the range of animals you are able to 'handle'. Baby orangutangs are available for photo opporunities for 100 baht. Then there are the 'shows'. This is Thailand's version of Disney Land - with cowboy and indian style shows, with fake gun fire and slap stick comedy.
